What Grinds My Grinder! Customers!

You know what grinds my grinder?

CUSTOMERS

This is a weird one because in truth, we are all customers at some point, whether it be for food, electronics or any other service needed but for now, I’ll focus mainly on customers who go into general stores like supermarkets! We’ve all been inside a supermarket of some kind all year round, whether it’s for a quick shop, the weekly shop, the Christmas shop etc but how often have you been inside a store and seen something like this.

Now before I get into this, it’s only a small handful of customers that do this, most people are understanding and generally good people but if you have gone your entire life without seeing at least one customer outburst, than I  really applaud you!

or this (But what an asshole!)

Just a couple of examples! A customer is yelling at an employee for some reason and generally, you might not know how to react, you might ignore the incident or you might stand and watch events unfold but when did a store become a venomous place where we can see the worst that humanity has to offer? The amount of people that act like spoilt little brats over the smallest of things is actually laughable in my opinion. I say that as a customer waiting in line and it’s not moving because a customer being served is shouting at the young cashier because his voucher is not being accepted as it is expired but for some reason, that’s the cashier’s fault?

How about when the cashier is following the law and I.Ding someone they believe to be underage for say alcohol or a DVD and the customer gets mad at them for it, sure I can understand it being a frustrating situation but it just makes me laugh how much a person can put a bottle of Vodka over composure but of course, some people just don’t care…we don’t always know how a person’s life is outside of a shop but the fact that we all seem to bring a bad event into places like these make them so unwelcoming and annoying to go to.

What annoys me is that no matter what the issue is, it’s ALWAYS the Cashier’s fault…because of this stupid quote

‘The customer is always right’

Whoever said that should have been punched in the face! Many people take this WAY to seriously! I have heard of some customers going into a store to purposely cause an issue so they can get free food or money by pretending that they’ve been overcharged or that the cashier didn’t give them one of their items etc As a customer, you must treat me like a God! No matter the situation, the customer is apparently never at fault but even so…why should it be the Cashier’s fault? You realise that they scan items, pack bags and that’s it…other information is from higher up like a supervisor or store manager and I say this because I remember a customer in front of me badger a young cashier about a sale on crisps but they didn’t know when it expired, the information was on the aisle but they didn’t spot it…so they shouted and called her a ‘retard’ I apologize if that offended anyone but it was out of order, over something so small!

keep-calm-and-say-customer-is-god.png

It’s not often stuff like this happens but when I do see an incident in a shop, it always makes me roll my eyes…like queuing up at a till…when it’s busy, chances are you’ll have to wait in a queue but so many people are easy to get frustrated by this and get angry…I understand people have things to do but if you were so busy with stuff then why didn’t you just do your shopping later? No reason to make someone else’s job harder because they are trying to reduce queues enough of it is! I’ve seen people abandon trolleys and baskets and walk out of the stores because of this…one person I saw on Boxing Day say about seven years ago threw her basket onto the floor and left the shop yelling!

Is it right that we can act this way in such a place that we go to for the things that we need to live, Food and Drink? Sure sometimes stores don’t always have what we want, offers expire without notice and things are getting more expensive but do we ever really have an excuse to act the way that so many do? Going to a store where people work to earn a living does NOT entitle us to act in such a manner…s*** happens, GET OVER IT YOU BABY! I have had incidents where I’ve had a voucher not accepted or I couldn’t get an item for a certain reason but I never threw a tantrum over it…it’s hard to see how so many people find it so easy to lose a temper and ruin someone’s day….just why?

It’s something about a store that brings the worst out of us as people…we see a giant store with various items and of course sales and we go crazy about it…money is an important factor here, otherwise sales would mean nothing! whenever a big sale is on, I notice more people in my local supermarket than a normal day…like A deal on wine or Easter Eggs…a lot more people turn up and another factor is reduced items…a known fact is in the evening, most shops reduce certain items and it’s known to attract quite the crowd but sometimes…things can get nasty and sometimes, even funny!

Are supermarkets actually circuses because my goodness…you sometimes see quite a show! I mean look at this wrestling match for reduced items!

I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t act that desperate and wrestle someone for a reduced prime rib! When was it acceptable for us to fight overs for food in a store…I mean I thought we left that all behind in the Stone Age! I know that events like this don’t happen often and this isn’t a big deal but it’s noticeable…we see videos appear online regularly from mostly America but other places as well I mean that brings me to the WORST thing about stores ever!

black-1271449_960_720.png

An event purposely made to drive customers insane and every November, many of us are bitten by the bug….people can queue up for days before this s***fest of an event and mostly in America but it has happened before in the UK as well, people go ballistic and many people have gotten seriously hurt in the stampedes and fights over sales! Watch this video done by the Richest on YouTube for the worst 10 Black Friday Disasters and ponder at what humanity is really like…that evolution theory looks more real every year that passes!

People can get mad over an expired voucher or expensive shopping but lets not forget ourselves as people, we aren’t animals that fight over scraps…I know times are tough for many of us but we should never go out of the way to ruin someone else’s day because of it…especially on Black Friday And with that done, Customers really grind my grinder!

Insane Woman Goes Crazy!!!

This video is from Ghetto Vines on Facebook, I do not claim any ownership over it but the stupidity in it is so great, I just can’t believe that people like this exist in our world today. Watch it all the way to the end and see what I mean!  (Woman goes bat shit crazy because a man kissed his girl in line at a shop. Insane woman alert!! WTF!!) Title of Video

To The Land Of The Rising Sun Part 23- Deers And Split Trains!

We were at Kyoto station at Sunday noon, ready to go and explore a whole new place, Nara. Our train pulled in and it looked old, compared to the other trains we had seen in Japan but regardless boarded and as we set off, we got excited about arriving into Nara as it was a lovely day, everyone seemed happy and we were enjoying our honeymoon.

That train journey was more like something out of a fairy tale!  It took 90 minutes to do it…seriously…every few minutes we had a stop and it took an age but the scenery was so picturesque and beautiful, I felt like we were travelling through a Studio Ghibli film, it was great! so much lush greenery and little towns and villages in the countryside, amazing…I forgot to take pictures…well I did but with my mind and I can’t print them out sadly…it was great though!

20160904_144334.jpg
Chips with Cheese on, YUM!
20160904_144121.jpg
MELON SODA IS AWESOME!

We eventually arrived and set out for our lunch, which ended up being Pizza…never thought how Japan would tackle a Pizza…it was alright, we went to a place called Napoli’s and they put Feta Cheese on the Pizza…turns out I don’t like Feta Cheese!

20160904_152623

We moved towards the parks and what did we see all over the place? Deer, that’s what…all over the place! Failed selfie here…couldn’t get my head in the shot when a deer came close to me…I didn’t know they came so close…I didn’t even have any food on me…never been so close to one before, it was so cool.

20160904_153237
YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

We bought some deer biscuits and spent a bit feeding the animals but I think I was a bit better at it then my wife…she panicked all the time when they came near her and she tried to run away but you should never run from a deer with food in your hands! They were only a couple of deer chasing her but it was her reactions that I couldn’t help but laugh at, I just thought it was a bit of an overreaction but maybe I’m being harsh.

I couldn’t help but laugh, it wasn’t going to hurt her, it just wanted the food! To be fair though, a lot of people ran from them when they came over for the biscuits. It was a fun experience…for me anyway because I’ve never felt like you can walk up to an animal like that and just feed it…I loved every moment of it, even though they kept following me after I ran out of food, only 150 yen per bag and all so I bought about 4 bags during the day and would return every now and then to feed them again during the rest of the day.

20160904_155723.jpg

We headed over to the Todai-Ji Temple and what you see in here is something that you should take with you for the rest of your life….in this wonderful place is a giant Buddha statue that is immense and breath taking. I had never seen such a thing in all my life…I saw Emma begin to pray to it…wonder what she said?

20160904_155646.jpg

This was inside the Daibutsu-Den Hall and the whole area was surrounded by school kids…hundreds of them, never seen anything like it and most of them were looking for English speaking people to ask questions to…we assumed it was for an assignment because they approached us so we answered their questions and they thanked us…politely.

20160904_160206.jpg

20160904_155225.jpg

We lit up some Incense candles while we were here and explored this peaceful place for a while. They even had a pole with a small hole running through it and if you can crawl through it, good fortune falls upon you or that’s what is believed as a giant queue for it was about…I didn’t do it because I don’t like small gaps, that and I didn’t want to wait around for ages when I could be exploring more!

We headed back outside and could barely hear ourselves think, we had so many schools around the area. I even tried to take a picture of the building but couldn’t get a clear shot

20160904_155256.jpg

We went back to feed the deer some more but time was getting on as it was late in the afternoon…we had stayed in Kyoto for the morning…it was Sunday which makes me wonder why so many schools were on a trip during the weekend? Do kids go to school at the weekend over here? After seeing some more deer which were the highlight of my day

20160904_161438.jpg

We headed back into Nara and decided to go into one of it’s arcades and weirdly enough…I won something…two things actually…not the best quality picture but these are what I won in Nara!

17545186_10155311351096019_3772449990628813601_o

It’s a game where you have to drop balls you pick up with a crane and drop into the correct holes that have a star in, it’s harder than it sounds as they bounce like crazy all over the place but one of them bounced into the star hole and a lady came over and said I could chose two figurines but to be honest, she handed me these two and walked off! Still very happy to win something over here, especially a figurine or two…brand new!

With that done, we set off from Nara back to Kyoto but along the way, we stopped at a station and were there for a while…unsure why I stepped off the train for a moment and to my horror, saw that it was smaller than I remember it being when I first got on it, half of it had continued on towards Kyoto and the half we were on was supposed to go to Osaka! Not wanting to panic, we kept calm and decided to actually go to Osaka and grab some dinner! We were still surprised and laughed it off, it was so sudden and unexpected…unannounced or if it was, it was in Japanese!

We went to Osaka and it was dark so we saw a nearby shopping center and headed inside to find a whole floor of food places, including a sushi place…we haven;t had sushi yet so thought, let’s eat here!  These are what we had and each piece had a small amount of Wasabi on…hot but it was good!

  • Snow Crab
  • Shrimp
  • Tuna
  • Red Miso Soup
  • Shrimp Tempura
  • Sea Urchin

All stuff I tried here…I said I wanted Crab! Staff were very friendly to us and helped us understand how to order which was fantastic! Best sushi I’ve ever had….probably won’t go to Yo Sushi for a while after being in Japan, it’s way better over here! Satisfied, we took the Bullet Train back to Kyoto but at the station, as we tried to but subway tickets back to our hotel, a Japanese woman shoved past my wife and tried to help me buy tickets, getting annoyed when my wife came back and told her that we didn’t need any help, she just stared at us as we got our tickets and walked off…no idea what that was about but she wanted to be nice to me but not my wife…. I think she was trying to be friendly but went about it in an odd way, oh well, just thought the whole ordeal was strange.

We went back to our hotel room, full, tired and happy…it had been a great day and tomorrow, we would head to the city of Himeji!

The Experiences Of Mrs Stump

Mrs Stump works in a local supermarket because he needs money to live….Mrs Stump however has a habit where he will say something controversial at the most inappropriate of moments

Let’s say it’s a Monday morning and it’s rather busy as the store only has five open tills and the queues are long. Mrs Stump is trying his best to put on a smile and be positive but at every turn, events seem to get in the way and test this. Here are some of his lovely customers who I am sure will all be kind, patient and understanding!

Let us begin with two customers who arrive at the same time, Mr Stump assumes that they are together, Mrs Stump should ask though but her mind goes off with an important topic.

Mrs Stump: I’m just saying…Brexit is a stupid idea…I voted remain and would do so again…to not isolate ourselves from our European cousins is horrendous and could make or break the next couple of generations….what right do we have to make that decision for them, do we leave them a mess to clean up or a proper united continent that is stable and safe for us all.

Customer 1: Could you serve me please?

(Mrs Stump begins to scan items)

Mrs Stump: Do you have your points card

(The second customer hands over a points card, Mr Stump scans it assuming they are together, the first customer sees this)

Mrs Stump: Are you two together?

Customer 1: No…I couldn’t afford mine and her shopping

(Mrs Stump finishes scanning the items and rounds up the total, the first customer hands over a points card)

Mrs Stump: Then why did she hand over her card to me when I was serving you?

Customer 1: Do you know what your doing?

Mrs Stump: Do you?

Customer 1: Excuse me?

Mrs Stump: Well you clearly watched her hand me a points card and said nothing about it, now your biting my head off because I can’t scan yours….what did you expect would happen?

(The purchase is complete but Mrs Stump is unable to take off the other customer’s points card)

Mrs Stump: Have a good day sir!

(Customer 1 leaves. Customer 2 hands over points card like nothing had happened, a bit grumpy)

Mrs Stump: What just happened?

***

Later in the day, Mrs Stump begins to think that her day can get better when a customer on her phone comes onto her till. She immediately begins to roll her eyes at how this could turn out.

Customer: Hello

Mrs Stump: Good Afternoon, would you like any bags?

(Customer says nothing)

Mrs Stump scans the small shop and rounds up the total.

Mrs Stump: And that will be 42 quid please, would you like any bags?

Customer: Cash card please

Mrs Stump: Excuse me?

Customer: Cash card…please

Mrs Stump: Would you like to purchase a cash card?

Customer: CASH CARD! CASH CARD! CASH CARD!

(Customer points to debit card)

Mrs Stump: Ok, calm down…why didn’t you say so.

Customer rolls eyes, pays and leaves. Mrs Stump mimics her face as she leaves.

Mrs Stump: Seriously, what is today?

Mrs Stump was a little agitated by the day she was having, she had apparently been receiving all the grumpy customers that had nothing better to do than make life hard for someone trying to earn a living. The thought of her naughty customers made her roll her eyes that it really did not take much to agitate some people.

Mrs Stump: It’s like some people come into a supermarket with a superiority complex, just to make people who work here miserable or something, like they have nothing better to do and this makes them feel good or something, kind of pathetic really!

After lunch, Mrs Stump felt more confident and was ready to put the start behind her and finish off strong! She had many nice customers throughout the day but this was to be short lived as a rather large angry looking man came onto her till.

Mrs Stump: Hel-

Customer: God, don’t you know how to greet a customer?

Mrs Stump was taken aback by this, she hadn’t even said a whole word and was already been shouted at, this was a new record.

Mrs Stump:…Hello sir

Customer: Hurry up, my time’s more important than yours.

Mrs Stump: (under her breath) True…McDonald’s is just down the street

Customer: Did you say something, speak up!

Mrs Stump: Do you need any help packing?

Customer: No…I can do a better job than you anyway!

Mrs Stump begins to scan items but as she is doing so, she can hear groans from the customer as he mutters under his breath .

Mrs Stump: Is everything alright sir

Customer: YOU JUST CAN’T THE PROPER HELP AROUND HERE!

Mrs Stump remains silent as she finishes scanning items and rounds up the total.

Mrs Stump: 62.80

Customer: Why is it so expensive?

Mrs Stump: Well you did buy 3 bottles of whisky and a brand new DVD

Customer: Your so useless, retard!

***

Boss: Mr Stump, you have received a complaint!

Mrs Stump: Really, what for?

Boss: We were told by a rather angry customer that you didn’t help them pack their bags, is this true?

Mrs Stump: I’ve had so many customers in the last half an hour, I might have forgotten to ask every single customer that question, I apologize!

Boss: The customer had a bad arm

Mrs Stump: Was it broken?

Boss: Yes.

Mrs Stump: Oh, I remember them, I asked her if she would like help and she never responded….not to mention that she had her husband with her so I thought he was going to help her.

Boss: Did you offer help?

Mrs Stump: Yes…I think but the husband could have done something.

Boss: That’s not for you to think

Mrs Stump: If he was behind this counter, he’d be in f****** trouble

Boss: Also, they complained that you said Donald Trump shouldn’t be the President of the United States.

Mrs Stump: Bloody hell!

You’ll get them next time Mrs Stump, you’ll get them next time!

Crossroads, Which Way To Go Down?

Hello everyone, I want to write a little bit about myself so you get a bit of an idea of what I’m like away from the blogs where I go on about how rough I feel I had it in my past, the mountains I set myself to climb etc You know what I’m on about!

My name is Matthew, I’m 26 years old and I inspire to one day be a published author. Fun dream, challenging but if a dream was easy, it just isn’t worth it, well not for me anyway! I’m a real nice guy, once I trust someone enough to fully be myself…I can take a while with strangers to come out of my shell more and more, it sucks but I’d rather take it slow than rush in, panic and run away!

Last year, I had the pleasure of giving up all social life by getting married! cue the sad music! I’m joking but enough people told me that for a joke, that I couldn’t go out anymore! I still see mates and it’s wonderful…I’m totally not reaching for a Ben and Jerry’s now! In all seriousness, I have great friends, family and most of all, a wonderful wife who completes but I’ll try to not go on about how much I love her in my blogs….fingers crossed….not that you can see that!

I often blog about my travels to all the countries I’ve visited so far in this lifetime, so far I’m writing about Japan who are a friendly bunch, great food in Kyoto! but I also have America, France and Italy to blog about as well which I can’t wait to do, once I find all the pictures for them of course! I always go travelling with my wife across the countries and they have all been an adventure to cherish and remember, they are also very daft and involve us getting lost or falling out over the dumbest of things, I don’t like arguments.

I write from time to time, often trying to not miss a day but sometimes, reality takes me away from the computer and I can’t always write a blog about my adventures, life challenges or my Autism like I would like to.

Hopefully in time, I can attract more people to follow my blog…If I’m interesting enough that is, who knows but life is a journey that we all go on together, lets make the most out of it while we are here!

Love Matthew

Dear Blog Day 4

10/4/16

Dear Blog

Today was a beautiful day! as the days get closer to the funeral though and Emma prepares for her new job, I couldn’t help but feel like this was the last day of life as it is right now because tomorrow, a big change will be there with Emma being out for most of the day now and it’s strange when you know it’s not far off!

I said yesterday that Emma would try and get her hands on the Angriest Whopper from Burger King and as she went out for a coffee with her aunt, the plan was put in place, so I went for a 2 mile jog before hand to get myself hungry! I love a good jog on a sunny day, adds to the scenery and atmosphere as you run. It’s always nice to pass other people who are going for a run or a cycle, makes me feel that bit more normal when you see others doing the same thing as well! With 4 months until the wedding, I have to do my best and get into proper shape for Emma, that’s my motivation and I’ll know I’ll succeed….I know I had a burger today but I very rarely go to Burger King…to expensive!

IMG_1738.JPGIMG_1736.JPG

Angry Whopper??? Should be renamed the ‘Slightly Ticked Off Whopper’  it wasn’t anywhere near as spicy as I was lead to believe, in fact the only thing I would say was hot at all was the Jalapenos, that’s it! Over hype on another product but I was amused by the red bun. I’m not normally a fan of tomatoes or salad but I kept them on and I despise onions but again, left them on as I wanted the full experience and to my surprise, they were all really good! I am terrible with spicy foods and can’t really handle them yet I was able to eat this quite easily! Says a lot about the item if you ask me!

Emma seems a bit more cheered up today and she even thanked me for trying to cheer her up yesterday, that meant a lot and made me feel less insecure about not seeing her as much during the day now but we’ll adjust and get used to it, we have the evenings and weekends to spend plenty of time with each other!

It’s been a good weekend but alas, the weekdays arrive back with Monday tomorrow, Emma starts her new job and we see how it all goes by the evening, how we both feel about it all, a week before the funeral but this is life!

Dear Blog Day 2

Dear Blog

It’s been once of those days today! I decide to go for a 6 mile jog early this morning because it was a nice, sunny day so why not? Maybe it was too good to be true for me today though because my run that took 47:56 minutes was held up by road works in the middle of nowhere, a car running over a Pheasant (I’ll be having nightmares tonight)  getting stuck behind a slower jogger and couldn’t get past her because of passing by cars! Was very frustrating indeed, that and my leg was playing up on the way back, not a good run…although the time wasn’t half bad!

I learnt when the funeral was going to be as well which was a downer but it had to happen so I wasn’t to down when I found out, it just feels weird knowing that someone I saw alive this week is no longer here, it’s happened far to quickly for my liking but I need to remember that he’s no longer in pain, that’s what matters! He’s a peace now and soon enough, the rest of us will be as well.

Emma starts her new job soon so it’ll be weird not having her around as much from Monday-Friday but we’ll have the weekends and the evenings to spend time with each other but for me at the moment, too much is changing too quickly, everything just needs to slow down a bit so I can catch up!

I need a relaxing weekend after all of this!

Day 13- What’s Inside My Fridge

30-day-blogging-challenge

Day 13 today and I am to discuss what is in my fridge for some reason…to be honest with you guys, I would be shocked if you thought anything else was in there…I mean what else do you keep inside a fridge? I mean where else people does your vortex into another dimension go, other than a fridge? What a silly thing to write a blog about!  I mean, we all have them, right? I mean, really…what an easy question to answer….can’t right that much about it…

Have a good night!
