Welcome to the last chapter of my journey to Japan, which took 27 Chapters but I did that much stuff I didn’t want to do MASSIVE blogs and squeeze it all into say 5 or 6 chapters, that’s not how I do things here! Hope you enjoy…even though the last chapter is a painful one for me because even though I leave Japan for home…it takes an eternity to get back.

narita-international-airport-1896684_960_720.jpg

We left our hotel at 5:15 am Japan time, very early but we had an early flight to South Korea. We set off from Narita Airport, Japan around 9 am, flying back home after a amazing 2 weeks in the Land of the rising sun! We had a short flight to South Korea first….read here and see why I wasn’t that excited about sitting at Incheon Airport!  the time slowly passed by and we pretty much wandered up and down the shops and got drinks before finally boarding our flight to London which was meant to be at half 11 am…which was delayed by a few hours…because of a air zone issue in China, so we had to sit and wait for nearly 4 hours! At least I had a giant Pikachu with me this time! We departed South Korea around half 3 pm.

Most of our flight was flying over Russia before crossing over the northern part of Europe such as Scandinavia before flying down from the North of England towards Heathrow…the plane was nice and all with the constant meals, drinks and plenty of movies to watch etc but after 2 long weeks, we were exhausted and a few days of recuperation on familiar territory was in order, even though given the option, we’d have gone back to Japan! Easily!

Constant turbulence over Russia slowed our flight down and our landing time got delayed more and more…which was bad for us because before we left to go to Japan, we had booked train tickets to and from London so we could get home because we would be travelling in the middle of the night from the south to the north! It was a gamble with our train because the original plan was to use the London Underground to get to King Cross Station which takes just under an hour from Heathrow but you have to go to the bottom level with massive suitcases after collecting them in the first place…after going through security checks! Needless to say the odds weren’t in our favour!

About 11 Hours later and we approach London, a huge step of our journey over and we were back in our part of the world but we had to circle London 3 times before landing and it was at this moment that we knew that we were going to miss our scheduled train! It was a crushing blow but we were still going to give it a British try and not give up until it was clear that it wasn’t happening!

On the ground, we dashed through the crowds towards Passport checks etc and got through quite quickly, even if we spent the entire time arguing because Emma said I was going to fast for her….we made up and I understood but we had to try and make it! Grabbing our luggage which…took a teeny bit, we headed down towards the train station but we then see a woman selling tickets for a fast train to London at 22 quid each…I know what your thinking and I wish I had done otherwise but we were desperate as we had 50 minutes until our train left King Cross Station and the train only took 15 minutes to get to London so we bought the tickets and boarded the train and it was here, as the doors closed that I realised the error we had made….you see the train went to London…London Paddington which was 3 miles away from King Cross!

metro-821812_960_720.jpg

Time had run out, our train would have departed and we were only 3 miles away so our only choice was to get the next train as 2 more were going North before the next day so we would have to see what happens! Luckily for us though, we found another passenger who was in the same situation as we were in, he had missed the same train, so we all got a taxi to King Cross and he even paid…very kind, we offered multiple times but he refused, he was just happy with the company!

kings-cross-1647741_960_720.jpg

We had a 2 hour wait until the next train just before midnight which in Japan would be 26 hours since we began our journey! We made calls to family and such to let them know we were back in the country and such, it was good to hear their voices once more. Japan was very friendly but we didn’t know anyone there so it was nice to talk to people we knew well again!

Our train finally departed but GUESS WHAT? Our conductor understood our situation and let us on the train…also told us that a cable had fallen up North at between Retford and Doncaster, meaning that we had to take a very long detour to get to South Yorkshire before we could finally get to Leeds so we rang up our taxi waiting for us up there to let them know about the delay. Our train journey took 4 and a half hours when it normally took about 2 hours so you can imagine…I’m quite mad right now…mostly because I’m very tired, it had been 30 plus hours being awake! The staff were friendly which was good and it was very weird travelling through England in the middle of the night…it all look deserted…every station like a ghost town…bit creepy to be honest at this time of night, with only the orange glow of the station lamps on.

moon-2093161_960_720.jpg

Finally, we arrived into Leeds after 3am and we found our taxi and within an hour later, we were finally back home…a sight that nearly made us cry…after everything we had gone through to just get here…I had never stayed awake this long in my life and I don’t really want to again!

So we set off from our hotel at 5:15 am and arrived at our house about quarter past 4 am so by taking time zones into consideration, it would have been lunch time in Japan a day later It took us over 30 hours, about 32 hours to get from our hotel in Kyoto, Japan to our house in England…that includes waiting times, flying on 2 flights, getting through London and the extremely delayed train North to Leeds! which is 5,793 miles altogether! That’s a lot of miles to cover but it shouldn’t have taken as long as it did…weirdly enough, I stayed awake for 30 hours straight…I tried to get some sleep but the passenger next to me is such a loud snorer and he took up all the leg room…as he had a nap! I’m not mad, just typical that’s all…it’s all part of the experience.

Just saying…England to Japan- No delays

Japan to England- SO MANY DELAYS!

Would I do it all again if I could go to Japan one more time…..YES!

Watford vs Manchester City

Saturday Night Football and Watford take on Manchester City in this nights entertainment! This game can and will not be called so easily because not only have Watford been shocking us all with performances against the big teams in the Premier League but Manchester City have slipped up against teams on the lower half of the league!

The Christmas period is always tough on all teams but with Arsenal 1st and Leicester 2nd, Manchester City need a win, a big win or they risk falling behind but when the chips are down, City tend to deliver so I will go for a 2-1 win for Manchester City who will keep up with the top 2 with a win!

Should be a good game!

Arsenal vs Newcastle United

Welcome 2016, we start this year with Arsenal being on top of the Premier League and today they have visitors from up North as Newcastle United come down to face the Gunners this afternoon!

Not every day you say that an Arsenal vs Newcastle is a top vs bottom match with Arsenal sat on top whereas Newcastle are near the bottom of the league which is strange considering how much they have spent in the last transfer window!

Both teams could strengthen this month with transfers but as for today, Arsenal are clearly the favourites and that terrifies me because we have thrown games away when it looked like we should easily win!

Il go for an Arsenal win, we are at home and Newcastle made West Brom look like Barcelona so il say 3-0 to the Gunners  and another 3pts!

COME ON ARSENAL!!!!

Watford vs Tottenham Hotspur

In the 3pm game of the day, we see High flying Watford taking on High flying Tottenham Hotspur, 4th vs 7th! Watford drew with Chelsea recently and are in unfamiliar territory, as in the top half of the league but they face Spurs, a team who recently beat Norwich and are in form as well and look quite the nut to crack, can Watford add Spurs onto their already impressive list or could this be where the run comes to a halt?

Both teams look set to keep on going and win whatever game they play, who is to say either one can’t beat Arsenal, Man City or Leicester? After this season, anybody can beat anyone as far as I’m concerned! it will be a very good back and forth game, Kane will probably score as will Ighalo!

Watford have the home advantage and look impressive at Vicarage Road so it won’t be an easy game for Spurs but I…don’t think Spurs will get the win today. Watford are on fire and their squad is most impressive so I will go for either a Watford win or a draw…I will say…Watford 2- Spurs 1. Another win for the Hornets is my prediction today

UCL: Olympiakos vs Arsenal Predictions

Olympiacos_Piraeus_stadium_001.jpg

It’s crunch time for Arsenal tonight! A must win indeed that determines last 16 football or Europa League Football in the New Year! Athens is where it is tonight, Arsenal fans need to roar in unity and back the team to a win, something that we have failed to do in the last 3 attempts! History isn’t on our side, not to mention that we need to beat them by 2 goals! We are capable of doing it, of course we are…but it depends which Arsenal turns up tonight. We are backed into a corner and after Manchester United got knocked out last night, We don’t want to follow suit and they had a better chance than we did! Chelsea as well as they face Porto tonight, they also face the chance of being knocked out as well! Imagine Man City, the Citizens being the only English team left in the competition! Arsenal need to make it through because us in the Europa League…well it wouldn’t be terrible but that Thursday night game…would put major dampers into our Premier League Campaign.

We have No Sanchez or Cazorla tonight! Ozil is there, Walcott and Chamberlain have returned recently! Cech has to be in goal for us, no question about it! Our defense has to be strong! No mistakes to be made hopefully, And well…no injuries hopefully! Hopefully we field a strong squad that can get us a 2 goal win at least and send us into the last 16 of the UCL! No matter how you look at this fixture, tonight matters! It’s one of the most important nights in Arsenal’s season! It will define so much and I will go for a 3-1 win for Arsenal tonight, I have to believe that we can win, that we can achieve our goals tonight!

West Brom V Arsenal Prediction

Arsenal_FC.svg

Thank goodness that Premier League action finally returns today, it has been well and truly missed during the International Break which by the way doesn’t happen again until March! Today Arsenal travel to the Hawthorns to face West Brom in the Premier League in what is once again a must win for Arsenal if they intend to top the Table for a short time before Manchester City take on Liverpool at least.

In what should be an entertaining game, Arsenal are seen as clear favorites in this game but don’t rule out West Brom either, for all we know they could surprise the Gunners and send them back to London with a whimper at a missed chance, the pressure is on Arsenal to deliver and this is one of those games that is vital to get all 3 points in the vault. News in that Sanchez and Ozil will get new contracts which is great as they are the two vital players we need, they have changed us so much and made us a stronger team and with Cech in as well, we look even better but I can’t help but wonder if we would be top now if we had indeed signed that striker up front, especially since Walcott is injured…injuries, that thing I said would happen to us if we didn’t sign any players as cover at the very least!

Venue: The Hawthorns, West Bromwich

Last time they met at The Hawthorns, Arsenal won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Danny Welbeck and many Arsenal fans were calling for Wenger’s head but how things have changed since that game, we chase top spot and look like a Tittle winning team at long last but I think the score will be much better than this game, my predicted score is that Arsenal will win 2-0 and top the table until the City-Liverpool game later on. I’ll be watching that and El Classico at the same time!

Arsenal 1 Tottenham 1 A Close Call

Tottenham Hotspur, well done for bringing your A game today, it was a good game and I can admit that for the majority of the match, you were the better team but Arsenal fought back to gain a respectable draw via a Gibbs equaliser and Ozil with yet another assist! a Good North London Derby to be honest, it was back and forth, full of drama, a striker that wouldn’t have hit a barn door today and a set of Spur Fans that trashed the Emirates Loos…ok then

barn-doorAs for Giroud, how many chances does one man need in a match to score, he had more than enough and still couldn’t put any of them away…I miss Walcott! International break now and Arsenal are level with Manchester City who also drew with Aston Villa today and are only behind by goal difference! One can’t help but kind of see this as a missed chance to go top but a draw is much better than a loss in my books so well done lads because, truth be told…we could have easily lost!  Spurs team looks really, good…Kane, Eriksen, Ali, Dembele, Lloris, all really good players and I think Spurs can do well this season, whether they can get 4th is another matter as of right now but if Chelsea can be down in 16th and Crystal Palace can have Liverpool’s number, then why not? But why would I, as an Arsenal fan give Spurs any sort of praise? I’m meant to despise them because they are our main rivals, right? Well apart from the rivalry, I’d be an idiot to say that they weren’t good and have a decent future, they look like they will actually stick with their manager for once and they even have a new stadium on the way! I’m not saying they will automatically match us year in and year out but one day…in the future, I wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs were on par with us! However, I don’t think they will ever overtake us on trophies or history at all, not a chance, after all London is Red!

Of course I think Arsenal are the superior team, by miles but for the first time in a long time, Spurs have a good manager and a good set of players, they are on a roll and we have to take them very seriously, after all, they had more chances and possession today so Spurs, I commend you for bringing it to us today and who knows, with Chelsea down there…you may perhaps…get lucky this season…maybe!

Good game by both teams, Arsenal is par on top with Manchester City at the break….that’s a winner in my eyes!

Man of Match: Ozil

Villain of Match: Giroud

COME ON ARSENAL!

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur- THE BIG ONE!

Arsenal_FC.svg 519px-Tottenham_Hotspur.svg

Well..it’s Derby Day…that match that North London can’t wait to see, who will emerge as the winner and have bragging rights? Say what you want about our season, say how we lost 5-1 to Bayern Munich (We beat them as well!) say how we lost to Sheffield Wednesday (yeah…that one’s fair enough!) but today…we move on from those two results because we have ourselves a North London Derby and I want a win against our rivals and yes, Spurs are our main rivals…I know some people think it’s Chelsea but its Spurs, our noisy neighbors! they talk an awful lot but their bark is far worse than their bite…although they claim otherwise and this is laughable, they still think they are the better team than Arsenal?! You read in the papers every year that one of their players claims that their squad is better…then they go and lose to us, the same thing happens the year after and you wonder…why do you think this when you always lose…what makes you think your better than a team you barely ever beat? That’s like Darlington thinking it’s better than Middlesbrough! (Ok, I know they are leagues apart!) but the point is one of those teams is far more successful! and every year, they say…we’ll get top 4 this year…really…when you have Manchester City, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all about…you really think you can knock one or two of those teams away from the top of the mountain? and yes…I know Chelsea are down near the bottom but they’ll be back, you’d be a fool to think that this run of bad form will continue all season long, no way they’d put up with it for Jose Mourinho, remember…no one is bigger than the football club, not Mourinho, not Wenger…NO ONE!… Anyway, despite the fact that they

  • Haven’t finished above us since 1995
  • Haven’t won the Premier League since it began in 1992
  • Haven’t won the English League since 1963!

They still claim that they are better than Arsenal in every way and form…true every now and then, they have beaten us at times and they are a good football team… no one is saying they are bad! you just can’t claim to be superior to a team that has won far more trophies than you, far more trophies than you! I’ll be honest though, if it was the other way around and it was Spurs that had won the more trophies, if they had recently won the F.A Cup twice, the Premier League 3 times and been in the Champions League Final, I’d say they were the better team because…they had the more trophies and had achieved more than the other team and if they win today, if they come to the Emirates and win the game, I’ll say congratulations to any Spurs Fan because I’m not bitter and it’s a game of football at the end of the day, someone has to win and someone has to lose and if they draw….well in my book that’s a loss for both sides! it’s not worth insulting anybody and bringing someone down over, have a laugh and then move on! We are football fans and want the best from our clubs and this game!

As for my prediction, I am obviously a Gunner and we are at home so I will go for an Arsenal win today but I also think Spurs will score as well so I think we’ll scrape it 2-1 today but we are heavily injured so it won’t be easy today to get the 3 points…I’ve said for years that injuries cost us so much every year and it could do once again because as per bloody usual, when we should have focused on winning this league, our best chance in years…we blow it in games against Sheffield and Bayern that also costs us morale and injuries which now might affect us the in the League as well, was it worth it?! Realistically, we are out of the Champions League! I’ve accepted that because I want to win the League so badly, and even if by some slim chance, we qualify into the last 16, we’re sitting ducks for a PSG, Real Madrid or Barcelona anyway! I don’t want to finish 3rd in the group because we’ll have that dreaded Thursday night match (Who knows, may end up playing Spurs??) and we might as well kiss the League goodbye then because the days of rest before the next match which include travel and training will exhaust us to near death, I’d rather finish 4th and then hope that the other teams Chelsea. United or City manage to qualify or get 3rd!

Reality came knocking to Arsenal, we got over confident over that win against Bayern and it cost us…knew it would because it always does, we beat one big team, get cocky and then we end up losing a couple of games! And now the dreaded injuries are starting…should have just accepted that the Premier League should be our main focus! We can’t win everything! I’d rather take this chance to win the league here and now! Think about it, Man United aren’t really on fire at the moment, City are focused on the Champions League and Chelsea are in the bottom half of the league! Take advantage of it, screw the Champions League, we can’t win it with our squad! if you go away to a club like Bayern and get beat by 3 goals or more than what chance do you have to go on and win the whole thing? We’ll have our day but it’s not this year! Know when your beat and come back another day!

But as for today, let’s go out into our yard and defeat our pesky neighbors and remind them that North London is Red and that we are bringing St Totteringham’s day forward because…like Jack Wilshere says

THANK YOU!

COME ON ARSENAL!!

jh8LeYou know what…If I were that bus driver who had driven Arsenal all the way from London to Sheffield…I would make them walk all the way back, the team, the manager, the lot! I don’t care if it was the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team out there tonight, it was humiliating to lose in that manner to a Championship team and no offence Sheffield Wednesday! You deserved the win tonight, clearly wanted it more than us but we had experience in that squad, you can give me the youngsters speech all you want, we started with Chamberlain, Flamini, Cech, Metresacker, Debuchy, Gibbs, Chambers, Giroud! more than half the squad was experienced and yes, we were very unlucky to have Chamberlain and Walcott injured in the first quarter of the game! but we were a strong side and still got smashed by Sheffield 3-0! if it was 1, I wouldn’t even be mad, 2…well it would depend in the manner of the game but 3-0 and not to mention that it didn’t take them long to get the goals was utterly humiliating and before anyone says, it’s only the Capital One cup, bigger fish to from your acting like this piece of silverware means nothing! Why, when Chelsea have won it recently, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool. they’ve all won the cup in the last decade so why is it no big deal that Arsenal don’t win it? 1987 we last won this trophy…bit of a stretch really because even Spurs have won it after that!

We really looked uninterested and I felt it was disrespectful of us to not really care…it’s silverware and would have been great to win, I mean yes we have more time about focusing on the Premier League but what about the F.A Cup? You know, that trophy we’ve won 2 yrs in a row? Is that also just a distraction as well for the Premier League and Champions League? Oik, so going out isn’t the end of the world, just now we have Sheffield to join Birmingham and Bradford as teams that have beaten us in this competition now! Why should any team be afraid of us in this competition, we’ll just botch it as usual because we don’t care about this cup…for some strange reason…funny for a team that took a decade to finally win a cup to not want one of them!

I’m not mad, just disappointed in the manner of how tonight went down, I just hope we don’t carry this form on into the game against Swansea, I mean if Walcott is out…Giroud didn’t look all great tonight and as for Debuchy, you can keep your mouth shut about not getting into the first team! It’s pretty clear why that is…I think I hear Newcastle calling, better answer! If we beat Swansea…that’ll be ok, we’ll have moved on from this result, I just hope it isn’t the start of a downward spiral for the club who got too confident after beating United and Bayern Munich…like we usually do!

Get better soon Chamberlain and Walcott!

COME ON ARSENAL!

Arsenal 2 Everton 1 Final Score Review

Well I’ll be…I got a score correct this time! 2-1 to Arsenal was the final score this evening as Arsenal go on top of the Premier League for the time being! Rounding off a memorable week for Arsenal…thank god! Overall a very good game, worth watching, especially after the entertainment factor called Jose Mourinho as he gets sent off by a Referee and loses 2-1 to West Ham, causing his team a 5th loss so far this season! Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy if you ask me!

Giroud and Koscielny headers won us the day and even though Everton got a goal back, we were able to hold on for the vital 3 points and we all now wait in anticipation for the outcome of the Manchester Derby…if City win, they return to the top but if United win, we may stay on top via goal difference which would be amazing! what a week it has been for Arsenal as we have defeated Watford, Bayern Munich and Everton in the space of 7 days! Not bad for a team that everyone accused of not being able to be genuine tittle contenders but with Chelsea fading further into the Premier League basement, Manchester United not being fully restored to their glory days behind Ferguson and Man City always being on and off, Arsenal have to be considered to be genuine contenders to win the Premier League.

I was hesitant about the Bayern game, saying that we should have focused more on the Premier League as we had more chance to win that and in a way I still stand by that but beating Bayern was memorable and topping the Premier League this evening was the cherry on top of the cake! with the Capital One Cup and Swansea on the horizon before our other Bayern Munich match in Germany, we have a chance to get two wins on the trot!

Man of Match: Ozil- he is our engine, he keeps things goal and is the assist king!

Next Match: Sheffield Wednesday (27th October)

COME ON ARSENAL!
